I bought an XBOX controller from Saturn 4 months ago… Unfortunately, it didn't connect to the computer without any problems and then hung around a lot… At first I thought it was due to the computer bluetooth, but now I know that it is also with a friend's XBOX doesn't work… Does anyone know if I can still exchange it?

2 year warranty.

So yes

It depends on whether they are so accommodating, that is the question of whether you can ultimately exchange it better ask if they are accommodating then it would be nice but if not and the device has no fire damage in the sense I don't know if they'll exchange it, but if you are accommodating, ask before!

You have a 24-month warranty for new products. This means that products that already had a defect when they were purchased must be exchanged or repaired. Also called liability for defects. In this case, the retailer or manufacturer has to deliver a functioning product, he didn't do that and therefore has to stand up for it. §§ 437, 438 BGB.

You are also within the 6 month deadline, meaning the retailer has to prove that the product only had a defect after it was purchased. §477 BGB.

Thanks

There's no need to talk about goodwill, the dealer is legally obliged to do so. That would be like a butcher giving me rotten meat and then he tells me he's so accommodating and exchanges it for good.

Ok, thanks for the effort

I think the way I put it, you may have misunderstood it a bit!

There's a huge difference between "It was already broken" and "I threw it in the chimney".
You can't generally just say that you can only return products on a goodwill basis if they are broken. As a buyer, you should already know your rights and, if necessary, be able to enforce them.
