Can you play gta 5 with an xbox 360 on a pc because i ordered a controller for xbox360?

Tried to play gta 5 with ps4 controller and it doesn't work that's why I ordered an xboxe360 controller so I can play gta 5 on a PC with an xbox controller, please report!
