New Xbox One controller doesn't connect older?

I bought a new Xbox one controller wireless and use it with an adapter on the PC. I pressed the search button on the controller and everything worked fine after about 20 minutes. Then he is disconnected and can no longer find the adapter. The old controller finds the adapter but why?
