Hi, for about 3 days I only have laggs on the PC when I play online.
And that although the ping stays between 30-50 all the time.
So I have no ping breaks and can't explain the lag to myself.
I don't have any FPS drops either. I have consistently 100-130 FPS in my games.
At the same time, the Internet on my XBox is excellent with no lag.
What could be the reason? I finally want to play properly online games again.
Do you have a LAN cable or Wi-Fi?
Maybe check your drivers
Your latency is stable and you have no FPS drops?
Then you don't have any lags.
Because either you have frame drops because the GPU can't keep up, which is noticeable in lags and image jumps,
or you have the same because your network can't keep up and blocks the graphics for so long.
What is the case now?
It would be really helpful if you gave us some useful information:
Internet provider
Connection type in the house
Connection type of the end device
Router / modem
max bandwidth
measured bandwidth (including time)
EDIT:
I think that you can completely exclude the network here.
It is more likely to be due to the hardware load.
What hardware in the PC
Which monitor (G-Sync?)
Already tried FPS limits
Tried V-Snyc
I live in a WG. Since there's no LAN connection in my room, I only have W-LAN
Are all up to date
That's exactly the funny thing. I have these typical internet flags. So I keep resetting and so on.
I can't explain the lag to myself because I don't have any ping or FPS drops.
So my GPU can handle it easily and ping is okay too, according to my computer.
Unfortunately, I do not know the data on my internet connection. I should find out.
G-Sync is not activated, I still have to do it.
I have the Ryzen 5 3600, the RTX 2060 and 16 GB of RAM. It can't be because of that.
I'll try to limit the FPS.
Well. The ping alone does not say much, however. This tells you how long an IP packet takes from you to the server and back again. It says nothing about the quality of the connection or the data sent / received. It is also questionable at what intervals the ping is measured. If it is only measured every 5 seconds and you have a drop in latency in between, the display may not notice it.
Whatever you have to consider, a connection ALWAYS has two sides. That means, it doesn't have to be your fault at all. What if the server is overloaded and sending information too late? Or if the server's CPU is overwhelmed and the game is not completely in sync as a result? Then your game has to make up for the missing information from the server.
What exactly is the case with you simply can't be said exactly.
First - if not already done - a restart of the router would be recommended, it is not uncommon for a router / modem to not restart for many weeks, but this should be done at least once a month.
It sounds like you're connected via Wi-Fi, so it would be an option to unplug the stick and plug it in again after a few minutes. Sounds stupid, helps and is often enough.
If that didn't help, the driver would be an option, unless it is obtained directly from the stick, you would have to see whether it might be because of it.
If you have installed new antivirus software or made new settings there, you should check that too.
If you are connected by cable and you have two LAN slots, try the other, free slot.
Thanks, I'll try it out.
