I have a power strip with an on / off switch on my TV, it's plugged in there,
tv
xbox
sky receiver
fire tv stick
and a globe
so 5 out of 6 places are occupied. I always leave it on at night because otherwise you always have to restart the sky receiver when it is disconnected from the power supply.
can it be dangerous and overheat or can I leave it on without hesitation?
Please only answer those who really know
Something can withstand a minimum of 1500 watts. Nothing happens there
It doesn't matter if you plug 6 devices into one power strip, as long as they don't use too much in total.
For example, it would be bad if you connected 6 toasters to a power strip and used them at the same time. That wouldn't work.
You can see if you can find a maximum wattage on the power strip. But most of them are at around 1500W max and you are FAR from that.
Especially since all devices are probably never on at the same time.
Look at the nameplate on the connector strip. There should be a maximum load or, better still, a permanent load.
Wall sockets are designed for permanent loads up to 10A ~ (2400W). There are also special ones that are explicitly for 16A. But are not common.
The devices you are listing are completely harmless to the power strip. Even if the TV set is an old plasma box. Receivers need approx. 0.1-0.2A ~ (10 to 30W) Your globe with LED also around 0.1A (10-20W) The television 0.2-2A ~ (50- 400W) and the X-Box should also be around 200W ~ (1A).
No. That is okay. That adds up to maybe 600 watts, not nearly enough to exhaust such a bar.
No more than 2 and a day is not a problem because you are close by
