Do you think Playstation 4 or XBOX One is better?

I'm considering creating a console, but I'm not sure which one.

Can someone give me advantages and disadvantages?

So which console is the graphics better (in GTA5)?
And which controller fits better in your hand?

Why do so many actually choose the PS4?

Please consider that advance models of the next generations, i.e. PS5 etc., can already be seen, presumably something could come for the Christmas business this year. Then the prices for the previous models drop extremely, and you are annoyed. Maybe a used device with a guarantee for the transition? I also like to play with the PS4, but I also have the Xbox One. Both have their peculiarities.

Graphics are both the same

The ps4 is maybe 2% better in performance

otherwise both identical, but the ps4 clearly has the better games

First of all, you should consider that the new generation of consoles is expected to come on the market this year, so maybe wait a little longer, especially since the new consoles will probably be compatible with the old games.

If you want to stay with the current generation:

The PS4 is a bit more expensive, but has slightly better graphics (though not much) and more exclusive games. The few exclusive titles of the Xbox one that you can usually play on the PC.

Then there are the new versions of the consoles, which are a little more expensive: The Xbox one X and the PS4 pro. Here the Xbox is better in terms of graphics, but also significantly more expensive. These consoles have the same games as their basic versions, but play them with higher resolutions (up to 4k) and sometimes with higher or more stable frame rates.

Advantages of the Xbox are that, more than the PS4, it enables crossplay with other platforms, so it allows you to play with people who play the same game on e.g. Have a PC or Nintendo Switch.

The PS4 is sold more often because
1. The graphics are better
2. There are more exclusive games on it
3. Many buy the already more successful platform because their own friends have it
4. The Xbox one initially scared a lot of people out of stupid marketing and pricing decisions.

Regarding GTA, the graphic is the same on both console types. Also in terms of fps, which lures GTA V to below 60fps. Xbox has an advantage, however. If you have a 120Hz television and you set the Xbox to 120Hz, the GTA game appears much more fluid. The Xbox model doesn't matter whether it's the Ancient One from 2013, the One S, or the One X.

A prerequisite is of course a 120Hz TV, as I said. But these are expensive. According to research, the PS4 (no matter which model) is not equipped with 120Hz. Xbox also has a price advantage. While the PS4 now costs about € 300, you can get the Xbox One very cheap. I got a One S with 2TB memory last September to be able to squeeze all my digital possessions onto the console. And last week I bought an Xbox One X for a low price, because it is quiet, (you don't hear anything!) But also almost lag-free.

Otherwise…

The advantage with Xbox is the backward compatibility, so I can continue to play all my 360 games, or even play oldie goldie (Xbox Classic) games, such as Star Wars Battlefron II from 2005. Is even digitally available, and even cheaper (10, - €) as if you ordered the disc from Amazon, for example (30 to 60 euro - used, in acceptable condition… -NO.)

Then there's Play Anywhere. Have you ever had a Win10 PC? Respectively. Are you going to buy one soon? If you get titles like Forza Horizon 4, Halo Wars 2, Subnautica, etc., whether on PC or Xbox, the games are available on both systems after 1 purchase. Not all supports that, but if you see games in the store with the slogan "Play Anywhere", then you have the Xbox and PC variant with one purchase.

Then we have the better crossplay support, which was used earlier on the One than on the PS4. Sure, Sony also had crossplay, for example in Portal 2 between PS3 and PC, but that's not exactly world-shattering. At Microsoft, One went much faster, still cooperated with Nintendo, and created a great crossplay ecosystem. At Sony you only got excuses and / or lies slapped in the face. Sad. After all, sony opens up, but only very slowly, and only with big developers, small studios have a harder time, and usually only get rejections…

But think about what you find better and ask your friends which console they have.

I never had any problems with Xbox, I never agreed to Playstation because of its policies.
