Do I need a new TV for this?

The new consoles xbox series x and the Ps5 will come out soon. I wanted to ask if you need a 4k TV because I only have a Hd ready TV.

No. Then you can only play in HD. Although an HD ready often only has 720p, that's pretty picky. FullHD / 1080p would make more sense.

HD Ready is a little bit. That is "only" 720p and not the full 1080p.

Of course you can also play at 720p, but a higher resolution is nicer.

No, you don't need a new TV. Your games will not have a 4K resolution, but only those that your television has.

You can still use the new consoles with your TV. However, with a 4K TV you could then play games in 4K. You have to decide whether this is worth it for you.
