120Hz or 60Hz when playing video games on my TV?

I have the latest Xbox Series X console.

This also supports HDMI 2.1 and more.

I have now bought a new 4K television. This has 100 Hz / 120 Hz native and also supports HDMI 2.1

In my settings on the Xbox console for TV and video settings, I can choose between two options. One option 60 Hz and one option 120 Hz.

Since there are very few games that support 120 FPS and 120 FPS is not yet up-to-date because it reduces the details extremely and I don't need that at first, 60 to 100 Hz are enough for me. That's why I wanted 100 Buy Hz TV. Only now I don't know which setting I should activate on the Xbox, whether I should activate 60 Hz or 120 Hz.

Call customer service on your TV tomorrow and ask about it.

Set your TV to 120Hz and your Xbox to 60Hz. Then the TV will get a new picture from the Xbox every other update and you can avoid tearing in the picture.

Does your TV happen to support VRR over HDMI 2.1?

Gr

VRR?
Unfortunately I have no idea about

Ti

VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) - With this function, the television synchronizes its refresh rate with the current fps (frames per second) of the console. If the console delivers fewer pictures, perhaps because a lot is happening on the screen, the television adjusts its frequency accordingly. This means that exactly one new image is output from the console every time the image is repeated on the television.

If your TV supports this feature (it should be easy to find out on the Internet), then you can activate VRR in your Xbox and don't have to worry about Hz and FPS anymore

The TV has VRR. So you can simply activate VRR in the settings of the Xbox, after which your TV will automatically always set the correct frame rate, depending on the output signal of the Xbox. You then no longer have to worry about the Hz settings on the television.
In addition, you should check in the settings of the television whether you can find an entry "VRR" or "Free-Sync" and switch it on. You can probably find it in the gaming settings, in the picture settings, or in the source settings

Are you a gamer yourself too?

Ti

Yes, a very passionate one.

Gr

Do you have an Xbox too?

Ti

I have the previous model, the Xbox One X. But at the moment I mainly play on the PC, and because most of the Xbox titles are available for both PC and Xbox, and you can play with your friends on both platforms, it actually makes almost no difference

Would it be possible that we could still talk in a party? Say you have a GAmerTag?
