How does crossplay work between ps4 and xbox one (minecraft)?

I have already added my friend from xbox one as a friend but he does not get an invitation when I invite him and if he is on a world nothing is displayed in the menu, so he can't join. Does anyone have any instructions? Or know what could be the reason?

I just did some research, many had the problem. For one, the problem has been fixed in which the person who owns the PS4 should log out of the Microsoft account and then log in again. Then it worked.

Try that out.

If that doesn't help, check whether your NAT connection is open.
