Headset for Xbox One?

So a year ago we bought an Xbox One with a new controller (with a clinker connector) … First we ordered a headset from Amazon… They didn't work… I thought they were broken… I sent them back. Now I've bought some at Media Markt… And the same problem… Are connected, but there's no sound and the microphone does not work either… Just nothing. Is anyone familiar with it?
