How can I play on xbox series s at 120 fps?

Today I bought the xbox series s with which you can play games with 120 fps. My monitor only manages 120 Hz only with dvi (is in Amazon) the monitor is: Acer GN246HL. But since the xbox has no dvi connection, my question is how do I still manage the 120 hz? Would that work with a dvi to HDMI cable or HDMI to dvi? I tried with HDMI 2.1 because the monitor said the frequency is not supported, so my question is how I can still play with 120 fps.

If your monitor can only handle 60Hz via HDMI, then it can no longer and you have to upgrade to something better.

I would recommend you an adapter so you can "convert" from DVI to HDMI. It works smoothly.

ho

What do you mean by adapter so what kind of adapter?

ho

But it is possible with HDMI 1.4 (what the monitor has) up to 120 hz

Ze

I just looked, I only find that the monitor can handle 60Hz via the HDMI connection.

ho

So without dvi?

Ze

144Hz is only possible with this model via DVI.

ho

But I only need 120 hz for xbox series s so the question would be whether it would work with a dvi to hdmi cable

Ze

No idea whether it simply accepts this via an adapter or not. You have to test it.

@ Julian3607 so I mean which cables

There are HDMI to DVI cables and adapters. I don't know if the 120hz will go over that. After all, it is not without reason that the console comes with an HDMI 2.1 cable, which is essential for high resolutions and FPS.

The Series S only brings a maximum of WQHD so 1440p at 120hz. So should work.

The parts don't cost the world, so just test them.

But something else seems more important to me. Very few games support 120hz so far. If so, then only with compromises in terms of resolution and graphic details. 60 FPS with full graphics are the better alternative.

And no sound is transmitted via DVI. This leaves only a wireless headset or a jack on the controller.

With fortnite you can play with 120 fps so should a dvi HDMI adapter work?

Ma

Did you read my answer Again for a better understanding as a quote.

"I don't know whether the 120hz will go over that.

Any questions I haven't answered?

But I didn't find anything about that, I also find it strange, if the monitor has 120 Hz then it actually transmits it via all inputs, especially via hdmi. And don't forget to set the 120 Hz in the Xbox settings, otherwise only 60 fps will work.

So you better wait and try it first via HDMI

ho

Do I have. At 120 Hz it says frequencies not supported

Then he should rather get an HDMI to DVI adapter, which has an optional jack connection. Then he can connect a headset or bluetooth speaker, that's how I did it with my xbox 360 back then until now with my Xbox One X, but with an HDMI to VGA adapter because my monitor doesn't have a DVI connection.

Did you find an answer? I also have the same monitor but don't wanna spend on a dvi to hdmi if it won't work
