A friend of mine plays Minecraft on the Xbox One, me on the phone (Iphone SE) or on my ipad mini.
I know from a friend that you can transfer worlds to other devices so that both devices can access the world independently.
is that really possible and if yes, how?
Um, I've never done something like that but the fear that you can play together because you only need an XBOX account to do that, but send worlds… I do not know how

I'm not sure if this is possible in the Pe version. However, you can create a realm (Paid). Then you can be independent of each other on the world. Otherwise you can only play together, through an X box live acc.
