Is there a way to run the Xbox one S at 144hz or more?

Apparently up to 120Hz is possible, but most games only go from 30-60fps anyway. If you want to have gameplay with more than 60fps I would recommend a PC anyway, it will be more and more worthwhile over time. Just please don't get the idea to buy a PC now although the prices are far too expensive at the moment due to Corona. Wait a bit until the prices normalize to some extent.

So that doesn't work with a Dp hdmi cable or something else?

Pi

The console does not have a Displayport at all, with a good HDMI cable it would theoretically work, but the console's performance is not enough to play most games in 120hz. Here is a list of all games that support 120hz: https://www.pocket-lint.com/de-de/spiele/news/xbox/154481-xbox-series-x-120fps-fps-spieleliste

Yes there's. But why should you do that?

Ti

Thanks for the answer. Then the setting to 120hz on the Xbox brings almost nothing. That means I can only use the performance of my monitor with a good PC 😅

Pi

So for some games it is useful, just look through the list to see if you have one of these games or if you want to buy one. Otherwise you are unfortunately right. But as I said at the moment, the prices for PC parts are so incredibly expensive that it is not worth buying. Better to wait.

Currently only play Modern Warfare, Battlefield 5, Metro Exodus and GTA. Well then I already have a monitor for the future 😂

I ordered an Iiyama a few days ago, the 0.8ms response time convinced me

120Hz is the maximum. And as far as I know, only one game supports that (Ori and the Will of the Wisps).

P.S: Don't confuse XBox One S and XBox Series S!

Pi

Sure, you will surely be able to use the monitor just as well. And even if you want to buy a better one at some point, you can still use it as a second monitor (provided you are at the PC) and I can only say two monitors are more than twice as good as just one. That doesn't mean you should buy a second good monitor now. If you have a PC but still don't need a good new monitor, you can still buy an old one for 20 euro as a second monitor.

120 Hz is the maximum

As far as I know, there's only 1 game for One S that supports this

Ke

The Xbox One S only has the function of playing a maximum bold rate of 120fps, but as far as I know, only one game supports this. If you want a high frame rate on your Xbox, you'll need an Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X.
