Whenever I connect my controller (Xbox, Bluetooth) to my Windows laptop, the wireless connection is interrupted. All drivers are up to date and I can't explain why it is and how I can fix it. Does anyone know?
Bluetooth works at 2.4 GHz, just like WLAN works at 2.4 GHz.
If both are operated at the same time, mutual interference can occur due to technical reasons (unfortunately this is the case).
The solution is either not to use both (2.4 GHz WLAN + Bluetooth) at the same time.
Or use the WLAN with 5 GHz in the ac standard. Both devices (WLAN adapter and WLAN router) often have to support 5 GHz WLAN, the ac standard. And the distance to the WLAN access point (router) must not be too great, because unfortunately 5 GHz does not get that far.
In order to only be connected to 5 GHz, you can name the SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz differently on a dual-band WLAN router (on the router's configuration page) and then connect specifically to the 5 GHz WLAN.
In rare cases, choosing a fixed Wi-Fi channel for 2.4 GHz can help a little (only channels 1, 6 or 11 are suitable as fixed channels, set in the router).
Switching the Wi-Fi bandwidth at 2.4 GHz (in the router) from automatic or 40 MHz to 20 MHz (also called coexistence, coexists) can make the Wi-Fi stability less sensitive to Bluetooth interference. This makes the WLAN a little slower, but it also stabilizes it.
An external WLAN receiver / adapter can also improve it.
Or using a LAN cable to the router or repeater to the PC is of course the best solution.
