I bought an xbox one s and wanted to connect it to my monitor, but my monitor has a VGA connection and built-in speakers. Do I have to buy an adapter with an audio cable or is a normal (video) adapter sufficient?
Yes, VGA is only for the image signals. So transmit sound separately.
VGA can only transmit image. So you need an extra cable for the sound.
You don't really want to gamble with the monitor's onboard sound, do you? Since the people's receiver had a better quality…
You can't just hear the sound with headphones via the controller
You can, but then the question is irrelevant…
