XBOX download in standby mode?

I bought an XBOX One today and am currently downloading 2 games. They last at least another 5-8 hours. How does it look, can I let you run the night so that the games are downloaded tomorrow? Or is there a standby mode / can you switch off the XBOX?

Yes, it is possible to download games on Xbox One while it is turned off. In settings you go under "System" to "Update and Downloads". There you check the box "Always update my console" and "Always update my games and apps". Thus, started downloads of games are assumed when you switch off the console. Games and the console software begin downloading their updates even when they are switched off. Remote installations (i.e. You buy a game via the Xbox app and want to start the download) actually work, but often it happens that nothing happens when the Xbox is off. It looks a little better when switched on. - Updates and downloads stop as soon as you cut the LAN or Wi-Fi connection. Even if this is only for a short time, the console must be switched on briefly. After the online connection can be recognized on the Home menu, you can switch it off again.

A little tip: in the settings, under "General" in "Energy saving mode & Start" you can set your Xbox to "Fast boot". Then if you ever find yourself in the middle of the game, i.e. Without ending the Xbox, turn it on again the next day, and start the game, you will be immediately at the point where you were last.

Cheers, SiHO colus.
