Hi! I've had a big problem for a while. Whenever I want to download a game on e.g. Steam or the XBox Gamepass (PC) Downloads the respective program with approx. 300-600kbit even though I have a 100mbit line from Telekom. In a speed test my PC has about 30-35 Mbits which should be enough for a relatively smooth download. In Steam I set the download server to Düsseldorf, which didn't really help. I need help urgently.
Restart Steam or change the download server
Doesn't help that much right now but try to buy the games at epic games because it runs smoothly for me, have the same problem every now and then it helps to learn the download cahe or you accidentally have a restriction
As I said, I've had the problem for a long time and whether you believe me or not, the idea has already occurred to me.
On Steam you can empty the download cache. That often helps. However, you have to log in again afterwards.
Epic Games has so few games: (I don't have any restrictions.
I will try.
I just tried it unfortunately didn't work
Epic Games is always best when it comes to downloads. Often only 200mbits per second arrive on Steam, whereas with Epic it is already 1000mbits per second and I can use the whole bandwidth.
Yes same mega nice origins also works well
Already tried to change the download region, I usually always change between Frankfurt and Munich
As mentioned above, I changed it to Düsseldorf, which is where I come from.
This is due to the load on the server…
If many people use the bandwidth that Steam has available for their servers, then less will arrive for each.
On the other hand, downloading between 1 and 6 o'clock in the morning helps, since all normal people are asleep xD (for all of them didn't understand this - it was a joke). Or change the server region. I heard Scandinavia should be a relatively good alternative. But I can only download at night. ^^
Try to change to Frankfurt or Munich, it doesn't matter where you're from, it's all about the connection
I had Munich in there and switched to Düsseldorf…
I'll try Frankfurt
Thanks. I noticed too. Now at this time I have a whopping 5mbits instead of 600kbit. I know that sounds like a joke now, but I'm happy.
