Can the PS5 or Xbox Series X do 4K and 120 hz? The talk of Sony was also 120 Hz at 8K?

Do you believe that the new 120 Hz consoles can do it?

Since the computing power for 120 fps at 4K is not enough, I do not believe in it.

I'm a pc gamer and you need at least one rtx 2080 Super to create 120 Hz at 4K and the graphics card alone costs just under 900 euro.

Ho

Nobody can tell you with certainty whether it can handle 4k and 120hz. I honestly doubt it. So far, Sony has kept a low profile. But 8K AND 120hz would be impossible. After all, not even a 4x PC is so expensive.

Sk

No. With the PS5, it was communicated that the FPS of games on the PS4 can double due to optimizations. Only games that ran on the PS4 at 60 FPS can therefore also run at 120 FPS. Games that ran at 30 FPS therefore come to 60.

It was said that both consoles should achieve 4K with 60 FPS. As it turns out, AC: Valhalla will only run at 30.

Neither console will probably make more than 60. So only 30 at 8K, if anything ever happens.

In the end it will be the same as with the PS4: Most games don't even achieve stable 30 FPS…

Ma

I think that's nonsense.

30 will certainly hold the new ones and, depending on the resolution, also more. There's definitely no game under 30.

Even the latest PS4 games keep falling below the 30FPS limit… The whole system is just too weak

Ma

Yes, but certainly not the new PS5. So 30 are certainly the minimum.

So console gamblers continue to mess around in 2009

You could already see drops in the previous streams…

In the end, no one will be able to tell you until it's released…

Ma

Yes, you are certainly right. Just wait and see.

But given the hardware of the new consoles, that shouldn't be a problem.

That being said, a stream, whichever you mean, is not really meaningful.

Bo

The XBox Series X should probably achieve 120 fps with 4k.
