They are the same. But is something different about the cables?

Are they somehow 'faster' with the Series S, i.e. The HDMI cable. Or can you just connect the old cables to the new one?

The Xbox One S has an optical output, the Xbox Series S or X no longer. (For the Playstation fanboys: the Playstation 5 also no longer has an optical output)

The Xbox Series S HDMI cable is an HDMI 2.1 cable. The HDMI cable of the Xbox One S is "only" an HDMI 2.0 cable. The difference between the two versions is that HDMI 2.0 can only reproduce a maximum resolution of 4K at 60 frames per second. HDMI 2.1, on the other hand, can deliver a maximum of 8K at 60 frames per second or 4K at 120fps frames per second. In addition, the relationship between HDR techniques differs here, but in my opinion it is unnecessary to explain this, since most of them do not use an HDR TV and it is therefore basically unnecessary.
