Restore Xbox One data after reset possible?

Lent my xbox to a friend. He has reset them to the factory settings, now all my data (game clips) are gone, the clips are no longer in the cloud because the storage space there was quickly full.
Question: after formatting, can I use a PC program to restore the game clips that were stored on the hard drive or are they now gone?

Becomes difficult because the xbox has already overwritten parts of the hdd by setting up the software. You have to test it out. Most of it will probably no longer be usable.

there are certainly companies that specialize in this, but that quickly costs a lot of money. Software (including paid software) will ultimately only be able to restore what is still there - and for the most part it is then incomplete if sectors have already been partially written again.
