Can I transfer my game from Xbox one to series s?

I have an Xbox one but am considering whether I should buy an xbox series s and have fifa 21 on the xbox one but as a disk but also as an xbox series s / x version, I can continue playing fifa 21 on the xbox series s or wouldn't that work?

If you only have the game as a disc, it won't work because it doesn't have a drive. This is only possible if you bought the game in the store.
