can I play the x360 with the xbox one controller?
An adapter is required to use an Xbox One controller on the Xbox 360.
The reason for this is that the Xbox 360 communicates with its controllers with a special Wi-Fi connection. You can even see the network on your mobile phone, press the pairing button on the controller or on the console, and you will see the corresponding Wi-Fi signal on your mobile phone or Wi-Fi-enabled PC - but you can't connect to it because the Wi-Fi Signal is specially encrypted, which only works with all 360 devices and consoles. (with the exception of specially designed adapters)
The Xbox One consoles and controllers, however, communicate with Bluetooth. The big difference in communications between Xbox One and Xbox 360 controllers and consoles alone is a reason to prefer to use an adapter if you absolutely want to use the One controller - which… Is understandable.
