How do you use an Xbox One controller with GTA?

Hi, I would like to play gta online with a controller but if I connect the controller via usb I can use it in all my games except bet GTA V. Can someone help me? Oh well, gta doesn't work with it either. I have often played GTA on the PC with a controller. And now suddenly it is no longer possible.

Gta5 with controller is tricky. I always have to switch the mode from supported games to unsupported games and back again a few times. At some point it will work, but I have to do it before the game starts
