Which console or PC is your favorite, what do you like so much about your console or about your PC

For what are you, PC, PS4, XBOX

We're all gamers and we shouldn't get in our hair that an XBOX is better than a PS4. I would like to be interested in what you think is so great about the PS4 and what the disadvantages are where the XBOB is better or the PC than the PS4

What is your favorite, and tell me what advantages and disadvantages of the PS4, XBOB and PC are to your taste.

Remember, we're all gamers and don't have to start arguing that any one console is better than another.

I'm looking forward to your Answers.

Have an approx. 1500 euro gaming PC setup and a PS4 Pro myself. Actually only use the console, except for strategy games. The claim that consoles have no advantages is deliberate misinformation that is spread here daily…

As a PC gamer, I'm generally only interested in consoles if there are exclusive titles that I want to play.

I prefer the PC for many reasons. A few of them are:

not * just * a console, can also be used for other things
Free choice of input devices for games (controller, JoySticks, mouse / keyboard, bananas, etc.)
Free choice of output devices (monitor with dozens of resolutions and frequencies)
Better performance (not just 30, which in some games can't even be achieved in a stable manner).
Better graphics
Real 4K and not just upscaled
Much larger game selection
Upgradable & repairable

and many more.

Of the current consoles, I think the Switch is the best, followed by the PS4

Small point of criticism.

60 pictures have long been standard, at least on Microsoft consoles & also the 4K is not upscaled there, it is native 4K. Better graphics is another thing. The consoles are much better optimized.

60 images have long been standard, at least on Microsoft consoles

but does not mean that they achieve this consistently & in every game.

In addition, the 4K is not upscaled there, it is native 4K.

admittedly can't say exactly for the Xbox - because, to be honest, it interests me too

Better graphics is another thing. The consoles are much better optimized.

And yet the games on the PC look better thanks to the graphics settings via "Medium"

I also have a switch that I mainly use as a mobile console.

On my PC I like that I have it anyway (post-processing of photos and short videos), so it makes more sense for me to simply upgrade the existing PC with a decent graphics card than to buy an extra device. Further advantages that are relevant to me are:

Ultrawide 21: 9 gaming
Free choice of input devices (keyboard / mouse, XBox one gamepad, Switch Pro Controller, …, theoretically I can use milkshakes as an input device)
Second monitor for additional content (Discord, Stream, Spotify, …)
My PC doesn't blow my ears off when I start a game

I also have a handful of older consoles (Gameboy, PSX, PSP) that I only have for the collective effect.

It was the question of upgrading a PC or adding a console.

As a workhorse and for "normal" games, the PC was still completely up to par, and I didn't have the money for a high-end gaming device. In addition, many friends also owned an XBox and the range of games convinced me at the time.
I personally didn't like the handling of the PS2, I got along better with the Xbox from the start.

In the meantime I have completely moved away from the PC as a gaming device. It is in the study and is rarely used for bookkeeping or our online pen and paper rounds. Structurally, one is very cut off from family affairs "in the cubicle". The console in the living room is just more comfortable. You can watch when your partner is playing and you don't always have to yell across the house when something is going on.

I personally think this argument is stupid too. It's up to everyone personally what they find better. Nobody breaks a spike from the crown because some stranger does not share their own preferences.

Or on your PC

It is faster, it is quieter, it has 2 monitors, you have Teamspeak / possibly. Discord, you can surf the net more comfortably, you can operate it with mouse and keyboard, you can do office work with it (including printing), you can also connect it to the television and play like a console with a controller.

Oh yes, you don't pay any monthly fees (besides the normal internet costs) to be able to play online.

I can always upgrade my computer, and over the years, PC games have been compatible for much longer. Then of course there are mods.

The console in the living room is just more comfortable. You can watch your partner play

This is how relationship works. And at the same time you block the television which your partner can't use.
If you now say you could put a monitor or TV in the living room that is only for the Xbox, then you can also do it for the PC.

Then name an advantage?

Mo

Less hackers. In any case, a number that is extremely low or close to zero. I would even say none at all, but that only leads to more discussions. The fact that there are fewer hackers on the current generation than on the PC is simply undeniable.

pe

And further? The fact that you meet a hacker on your PC every couple of weeks can't be the reason to throw your money out the window for a console

Za

And at the same time you block the television which your partner can't use

Nothing is on television that we would be interested in anyway. And if you do, you deny yourself. There's nothing to it. But that happens very rarely. Most of the time we play together and the timer is pushed away. Nobody knows what they wanted to see days ago anyway… So it won't have been that important. XD

I can understand that many consider the PC to be superior, I was a PC gamer myself for a long time. But at the moment there's no game that I would say I want to play THAT on the PC. Quite apart from the fact that I know what money I would have to take in hand to bring the box up to date…

The PS was briefly under discussion when Horizon came up. I then tried it out with a friend and was not very enthusiastic. In short, the XBox works for us, in our situation it works best.

Mo

You wanted an advantage (not the only one, of course). Here you have it. Evidence completed.

pe

A REAL advantage, this is something completely irrelevant when choosing the platform
