As far as I know, as long as the amount is on it. That's how I always did it at moviestarplanet when I was 14 years old. But do not know if this is also possible with Xbox, just try it out.

Not really? In fact, my mobile phone contract provider has set it up so that I can't buy anything from my contract.

No, it doesn't work. It says: "Your account for billing via mobile phone providers is blocked for this type of billing." But it's not that bad, I still have credit, but it would have been really good.
