My first childhood game was The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time, my last in this series, The Wind Waker. Somehow, however, came to the Sony hype at me and I'm very off the line. Now, for some time now, I'm driven by the demand for Zelda, before all Breath of the Wild I'm now very much addressed. However, I would like to play the above-mentioned classic again. Is it more worthwhile than a Nintendo Wii you or the switch? Unfortunately, I'm so far away from Nintendo that I can't assess that. Is there a shop where you can possibly buy the old games? Are there certain exclusive eg only for the hand consoles? Maybe you can advise me briefly without me overturned overwhelmed. It's a huge series. Apart from that, I'm not really that interested in much of the Nintendo corner, at least most of them are Pokemon.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is available for the Wii you and the Nintendo Switch, where it works better on the switch. The sequel to Breath of the Wild was announced for the switch.
For the Switch, there's then the new release of classic »The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening«. Whether even more classics for the Switch will be re-released is unknown but not ruled out.
The Nintendo Switch Online Membership also features NES classics like The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
»Pokémon« is the Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! And Let's Go, Evoli! "And, shortly," Pokémon Sword and Shield. " Most other Pokémon parts appeared for the pure handheld consoles. Whereby most of the games can be played with the Nintendo DS (plays the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and the DS plays) and the Nintendo 3DS (plays the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo 3DS plays, as well as the older than Virtual Console versions).
For a start, you could first look for used WiiUs on ebay. So I was able to tap a WiiU with Pro-Controller (unknown third party) and the games The Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild for 250 euro at auction. Just keep in mind that the WiiU is basically dead. There are no new games left, only what's there, and Zelda titles are definitely Breath of the Wild (also available for Switch), Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (please complete if there's something missing).
The switch is still pretty expensive with their games, and because of Nintendo, it's not going to change that much because Nintendo is not known to cut prices. A switch costs 300-330 euro without a game and the games go on the software pyramid, although already at 30 euro, but these are usually third-party games. Games from Nintendo, like Zelda and Mario you will hardly find for under 60 euro. Breath of the Wild and Link's Awakening are known to me as Zelda titles, and if you book the online subscription, there are a whole host of old (S) NES classics available.
In addition, it should be mentioned that the WiiU with Wii games is backwards compatible, if you have the necessary accessories. The switch is a complete reboot, as neither CDs nor 3DS cards fit into it.
Backwards compatible is a big plus of the Wii U. I bought mine a year ago with Mario Kart for 120 euro.
I played Zelda BotW on the Wii you and had no problems with the performance. Sure, the game looks better on the switch, but only noticeable if you put both consoles side by side. Justifies the price difference m. M. Not at all. As written below, you get most of the Wii U titles for a few euro and it's backwards compatible. Clear pluses for the Wii U.
I just list all parts of the Zelda series including the first appearing console and WiiU / Switch if they are available.
Main console:
The Legend of Zelda (NES, Switch [only with Nintendo Switch Online subscription])
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES, Switch [NSO])
TLOZ - A Link to the Past (SNES, Switch [NSO])
TLOZ - Ocarina of Time (N64, WiiU)
TLOZ - Majoras Mask (N64, WiiU)
TLOZ - The Windwaker (GameCube, WiiU [as HD Remaster])
TLOZ - Twilight Princess (GameCube / Wii, WiiU [HD])
TLOZ - Skyward Sword (Wii, WiiU)
TLOZ - Breath of the Wild (WiiU / Switch)
(Successor of BotW (Switch))
Handheld:
TLOZ - Link's Awakening (GameBoy, Switch [as a remake])
TLOZ - Oracle of Ages / Oracle of Seasons (Game Boy Color)
TLOZ - The Minish Cap (Game Boy Advance, WiiU)
TLOZ - Phantom Hourglass (DS, WiiU)
TLOZ - Spirit Tracks (DS, WiiU)
TLOZ - A Link between Worlds (3DS)
There are also a few multiplayer Zeldas, but since they are relatively irrelevant and they are not available on WiiU or Switch anyway, I have omitted them in this listing.
It is relatively obvious that WiiU is by far the best platform to play Zelda at this time. But on the switch, of course, more Zelda games can appear.
But you can use the switch, when, how and where you want. The Wii you is always tied to the home console because the gamepad is not the actual console. Huge, clear and (for me at least) decisive plus point for the switch.
