I wanted to ask the group if anyone can help me.
My kids wanted to play switch the other day… Mario odyssey…
You put the game in the switch and after a while a message appeared that the game was not recognized. At first I thought the game was broken. But when they wanted to test another game… Super smashbrothers… Suddenly it didn't work anymore… With the same reason?!
When I googled afterwards, I found that this bug is apparently known. So now I have drawn the hatred of my children to me, and reset the switch and all saved data to factory settings… Unfortunately without success.
Now my question, does anyone know why this is or how to fix it? The guarantee period has already expired, so we're unlucky. We can't afford a new console… That's why I asked from above.
And I would be very grateful for numerous serious answers / assistance!
Is the latest system version installed on the switch?
If so, it sounds to me as if there might be a physical error in the switch's card reader. It can then no longer be a software error if the console has been reset and the system is up to date…
Switch was updated after restart. The confusing thing is that some games work perfectly. Not all games are affected… That's what annoys me because I don't understand it… If everyone wouldn't go anymore, ok… But somehow it's just the games where Mario is involved. Super Mario odyssey, … Kart, super smashbrothers…
Sometimes this can also be fixed using an aux cable. In some models, the card slot or reader is the switch on the same board as the aux input (the 3.5mm plug at the top for headphones).
Try plugging in the game and keeping the switch menu open (to see if it recognizes a card or not). If the card is in but nothing is recognized, plug in some headphones at the top. Then wiggle a little and pull in and out again. This has already helped some to fix this kind of problem.
It may only sound like the card reader or some cards may be damaged / dirty. Also make sure the gold pins on each card are clean.
So I tried the headphone plug… Unfortunately without success…
As I said, it seems to be known…

Just how much does a repair like that would be interesting… Hmm

Is the same situation…
Then unfortunately it actually looks like a repair. I doubt that the problem can be solved so easily by itself. Of course, you can still be very lucky and it works all of a sudden, but I wouldn't bet on that.
