My brother bought a Nintendo Switch two days ago, along with the new Animal Crossing. I wanted to play it all the time since it came out and so I was really happy. However, since we play on the same console, I live on his island and would like to have my own. And when I go to the Nintendo eShop with my account, Animal Crossing says that it has already been bought.
Now I wonder if I would get my own island if I just bought the game as a game card because my brother "only" downloaded it. And if I get my own Switch Lite for Christmas, the game status would have to stay on the game card, right?
And I also wonder if I have to buy it at all. Since my brother's switch says that I can't buy the game in the eShop. Or is it only on the console? I doubt very much that the game would also be on my Switch Lite, if I'm honest, but I wanted to ask about security.
Maybe someone is familiar with it and can give me an answer so that I know whether I should get Animal Crossing again!
1 switch 1 island… If you buy the physical form now and play on the same switch, you are still on your brother's.
And the score is not yet transferred. In other words, if 1 switch breaks and you go to another switch with the game you bought, you start over
No. To have your own island you need a new switch again.
Every profile on the same switch has the same island.
With the Switch, the data is stored on the console and not on the gamecard.
So if you want your own island, you will need your own console.
You can only have one island per switch, so you need your own. Scores can't be transferred either
