I just love Pokemon because I grew up with the games as well. Unfortunately, today's generations are often disappointing in my opinion and I have had to skip some. My absolute favorite game is simply Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team. The whole story was just so great and the end so sad. My question is which game in your opinion, maybe in this direction. No matter which generation, whether one of the first or the newest. So I attach importance to the games with the best story, which may also be very sad sometimes. Best on the DS / 3DS or Wii (u) or PS4.
I would be very happy about suggestions
The story of Mystery Dungeon was really good, for a simple dungeon crawler and a breeze. The end of Exploration Team Time almost made me cry, and although I never saw it as a kid, I finished the game only 2 years ago.
From the story as well as the gameplay I can recommend the Pokemon Ranger series. The first part can be extremely heavy, especially later, and there was also an after-game assignment, in which I found myself in a softlock.
The second part is of course even better from the story and also has a better gameplay, more side missions and even a pretty strong fighting arena that you could do after completing the main game. The game itself became difficult towards the end.
The third part, in my opinion, has much too much dialogue just like the sun and the moon. There's too much talk, but story, side game and multiplayer are fun. The gameplay itself, however, is more balanced, the only serious was the final boss and the pattern of Ho-Oh.
Maybe there's something for you in the Ranger series?
Are you more into the side ranks (like Mystery Dungeon) or the main games? Then it would be helpful to know which ones you already know and which ones do not. You have not played for generations.
Basically, Pokémon has never been known for its phenomenal story, but the games have some bright spots. Also some of the newer ones. Some generations are story even more complex than one could understand as a child.
Yeah right, the main parts are not story-wise not the best games.
Mystery Dungeon Exploration Team Time, darkness and sky have the best story for me, especially as they are not over after the end of the main action and continue to be told in the post game.
