PS4 controller without serial number at gamestop exchange?

Tomorrow I exchange my ps4 for a ps4 pro at gamestop, now I have a consideration and this would be that the serial number of my ps4 controller has already been subtracted but the controller is as good as new. Can I still exchange this controller together with the ps4 or is that no longer valid?
