120 fps HDMI, Ps5?

I have an important and urgent question about the new Ps5 and Hdmi cables. The point is that I have read that the standard HDMI cable can only transmit up to 60 fps. So the question came to me that if I buy the Ps5 and a monitor with 144hz (monitor with Displayport, Hdmi connection), whether I can achieve 120 fps with an Hdmi cable, or whether it only works with Displayport. I've also read that there are newer generations of HDMI cables that seem to be able to transmit 120 fps, and I'm not sure if the Ps5 has any DisplayPort connections at all, if that couldn't be done with HDMI.

I would be incredibly looking forward to an exact and detailed answer if anyone has any idea!

The PS5 will only have one HDMI port, HDMI 2.1. If you want to get the most out of it (4K120hz), you also need an appropriate cable and of course a TV / monitor that supports HDMI 2.1.

However, 4K and 120hz will only be achieved in very few exceptional cases with the new generation of consoles. Personally, I do not see the need to purchase the appropriate equipment. 4K at 60hz will usually be the maximum.

Thank you!

Just had one more question and that is whether there are many monitors that support hdmi 2.1 and whether they are expensive. I would like to mention that I will play full hd (120fps)

To be honest, I'm not that informed. HDMI is limited to 120hz, which is why you use different connections on the PC.

I think the offer seems to be quite small. According to Geizhals, there's currently only one, which I find very astonishing. 😅

Asus apparently wants to bring corresponding monitors onto the market at the end of the year.
