Play VR video on PS4?

I have currently got VR glasses for the PS4.

I wanted to test a video.

I used a legal video file in .mp4 and also in .avi.

Before that, the USB stick was formatted to FAT 32.

The media player app downloaded on the PS4 and updated to the latest version.

I activated the VR mode with the console, switched on the glasses and tried to play the video.

The stick with the video is recognized but the message "The medium can't be played" appears or something.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be or what I'm doing wrong?

I assume that you have already read this or something similar?

https://www.giga.de/...abspielen/

Em

Yes, I started with that and followed it exactly.

se

Then unfortunately I can't help you.
possibly search for errors on google:
"Play ps4 usb stick video not working / error"

Em

I have already tried this but always get the standard solutions.

se

Hope you can still get it.

Em

Thank you. Do you think it is because of the FAT32 that I should use the other formatting?

se

It is worth a try for sure.

Em

You tested it once and did everything work for you? So generally playing a VR video?

se

I have no ps4 and no ps hmd. Therefore only the said suggestions to search the net.
I could at most tell stories from other people's experiences or judge the hmd (because it is also used several times), but I'm not so familiar with the topic of playing video from a data medium.

Em

No, it's not that important to me. Just wanted to test that.

Have played some Resident Evil 7 with the VR glasses, but no one can stand that…

se

How come?

because of the locomotion or do you mean because of the genre?

Em

So on the one hand it is really scary and oppressive and on the other hand it makes me really bad.

I also find the graphics generally underground and very tiring for the eyes. Constantly out of focus, blurred and washed out.

Technically, it is nice to see, but it is still in its infancy. The VR glasses of the PS4 still cost a fortune and I'm a little disappointed and glad that I only borrowed them.

se

Yes the psvr is not that great.

you can read about locomotion here:

and regarding horror: yes that is more intense in vr. The imersion is just higher than before a flat. But it gets worse. Since resi is more like a 6/10

Em

Thanks for the Locomotion, I'll take a look at that.

Which game would you think of where the 10/10 reached?

Do not know any current horror games on the PS4, especially not in VR.

se

Rather less on the ps4. I'm a pc hmd user.

So far I had no 10 out of 10 for my taste. Would be in the sense that I have to pause again and again to collect myself again.

what is good in terms of inspiration (about an 8/10) would be paranormal activity.
If it's just about scaring and simple jumpscares (or in other words, can't have everything in view), Brookhaven would be an experiment (7/10 but only towards the end).

walking dead and arizoona sunshine also have some good moments, but this is more due to opponents because of the time pressure or the sheer number of people.
