SSD or SSHD for PS4 Pro?

No

I've been thinking about replacing my hard drive from the PS4 Pro for some time now. Actually, I would have gotten an SSD (are currently not so expensive), but I'm now a bit uncertain. On the PC, the SSD is of course the first choice, but on the PS4 Pro, I'm not so sure because there seems to be no trim function and I'm afraid that the SSD thus ages much faster.

Now there's an alternative SSHD. With that is so far as I know, such a trim function is not necessary. The SSD would probably make a big difference in loading times, at least in some games, but with SSHD I do not know how big the difference to the HDD would be and if it's worth it at all.

Possible potential hard disks would be the following:

Samsung SSD Evo 860
Seagate Firecuda SSHD

What do you think?

I think you should rather save the money and get yourself a decent PC.

What a stupid answer…

With regard to the possibility of using an SSHD, it should first be clarified whether the operating system of the PS4 can even use the precache functions of an SSHD.

The SSD portion of such a hybrid hard drive only preloads frequently needed files to improve responsiveness.

This works for large files but only with (very) moderate success, because, for example, For large game files then still some of the data from the magnetic disks must be reloaded. At least then the advantage over a normal HDD is gone.

For this reason, SSHDs have never been widely used in the PC field, even though they were developed about 10-11 years after the release of Windows Vista.

Something like that would only say a poor console servant.

First of all, shut up. This is generally a good idea if you have no idea.

The answer "Do X" to the question "A or B?" is just stupid.

Who has no idea here you low console servant? Me and all other representatives of the PC master race are the ones to be listened to. If you are not satisfied with the words of God, then you are nothing but a pathetic heretic…
