Can you cut a micro and solder it to another cable?

I have 2 cables. The fake beats cable has a bad microphone, which is bad when I talk to my colleague in the Ps4 lobby he hardly understands me. The second problem is an original beats cable with a good microphone, but I can't connect it to the Ps4 controller, the micro will not work because the original Beats cable has too few or too many poles on the jack. Can I now cut off the mic from the original cable and solder it to the fake cable? Cut off the jacks with the correct poles and solder the beats to the original beats?

If the cable assignment is known and the "connection technology" gets there, yes.
