Internet problems?

Hi
- in PlayStation
4

For 2 weeks it has struck me that our Wi-Fi has gotten worse (a lot) I can't even watch YouTube videos relaxed… My mother pays 35 euro and it only comes in at 2.3mbit / s where I think that is very sad… I live in a city… My mother blames it on all the devices (3 * Playstation, 1 * Switch, 8 * Cell Phones, 2 * Tablets, 1 * TV) but I don't think that at 35 euro, despite many devices, only that will arrive… So I got it I ask a question

-Is that normal and affordable…

And then my mother told me that it can also be due to the city… How lying with the most central some (who I know) live outside and have better my brother suggested to change providers then she said again all the devices are to blame

-Is it really like that?

Let's say everyone is a little right and a little wrong.

We have to take the problem apart a bit and follow a certain process so that we can find the scapegoat for the WLAN.

First check what arrives in the router. To do this, we go to the router in the browser

Fritzbox could be 192.168.178.1, others 192.168.0.1.

So, we're in, let's look under dsl how high the two values UP and DOWN are and how long there has been a connection. Can you do that?

Lo

To live in a city means nothing at first. It starts with clarifying what kind of contract exists. If, for example, it is older and has 6 Mbit as the upper limit, then that's the way it is.

If several devices access the router from these devices at the same time, the available power must be divided. And depending on the quality of the router and the connection, it may be that even with a faster line, individual devices only get a fraction of the performance. The connection speed applies to the router attached to the line, not to every device that connects to it. For a concrete measurement, all devices would have to be disconnected from the network and a measurement should ideally be carried out from a computer / notebook that is connected directly to the router via a LAN cable, since WLAN is more lossy due to environmental influences even at short distances. Under certain circumstances, the connection speed can be measured / checked in the admin interface of the router for some models. The connection can then also be made via WLAN without any problems.

With 8 cell phones (which are hardly used at the same time) and several consoles, I assume that we're talking about a 4-person, probably 5-person household? The contract should already have at least 50 Mbit to be able to provide enough capacity for the devices.

A change of provider does not have to be necessary as long as the service envisaged in the contract is given. In case of doubt, it would be better to check whether service A arrives at all and B, if so, a contract change to a more powerful package is possible.

Hi

Yes, the thing is that was not so before that is only since about 2 weeks so before arrived enough (40-60 mbit / s)

Hi

An online sign also flashes continuously on the router - no idea whether this was the case before
