Realm out of date?

I play Minecraft on the PS4, until yesterday everything was going well with the realm. Then there was a Minecraft update that I had to do to play multiplayer. Then when I tried to enter the realm it said that the realm is out of date and that I should contact the owner. The owner checked for updates, did one, but it still didn't work. This is really hindered as we spent extra money playing together as normal worlds never worked. Does anyone know what we could do?

Well, that actually means that it has expired and that you have to pay for the next month. Otherwise I can't think of any other solution.
