Buy Nickelodeon series on DVD / Blu-ray?

I have a series on Nick that has been around since 2005 and on Nick the quality is good but if I get it on DVD it is bad.sceentearing is on the DVD because I watch the DVD on the PS4 should I get Blu-ray?

But why is the quality so good on Nick and so bad on DVD?

Yes, DVD is not always good, but blu ray is too expensive. Better to use Amazon Prime Video or Netflix
