The following problem: The battery of a wireless controller was empty, so I wanted to switch to the other, which had long been connected via the included USB cable to one of the USB ports on the PS3 console.
However, he showed no reaction; Not even a flashing LED that indicated he was looking for a connection.
The controller with an empty battery, which I now connected to the cable, also showed no reaction, despite connected via cable power supply.
I've already tried replacing the USB cable with another one (USB-A male to mini-USB male), changed the USB port on the Playstation, and connected one of the controllers to an external mini-USB power adapter overnight for charging, I still had lying around (and that definitely works).
Did not bring anything, both controllers show no signs of life.
What can this be? The Playstation itself is still working.
Can both controllers have given up the ghost simultaneously and without warning?
The battery life of both devices was still good, no weaknesses recognizable.
How should I best approach the problem solution?
Presumably, the USB controller in the Playstation has broken. Can happen after all these years.
Ever done a reset?
On the back of the controller is a small reset button (hiding in a hole), with a paper clip or a toothpick for 5-10 seconds. Click on it. The controller should be connected to the cable and to the PS3 and the PS3 should be switched on.

I thought so synonymous, but then would have loaded the external power supply controller yet again?
Okay, I'll try that…
Ha, great! Thanks, that solved the problem!
Interestingly, I just had to reset a controller, then both went back.
Have somehow disturbed each other, can that be?
I did not know what caused that. But a reset often helps.
