Ps4 - 2 external hard drives can be used?

Following question:

i own the ps4 slim with 500gb internal storage and because of the lack of storage space i got an external hard drive with 4 tb. Since this hard drive was also full, I ordered the same hard drive again in 4tb. My wish would have been to use this hard drive together with the other extended storage, but my problem is that the second extended storage only works if the other one is deleted as extended storage. Do you have experience with it?
Do I still keep all the data or what does it look like?

So we have the "normal old" PS4 and use the internal memory and still have 2 external hard drives. Of these, however, only one is always connected. If we want to connect the other, we have to go to the active hard disk in the settings and stop using it, then we can connect and use the other and no data has yet been lost.

I have my games on one hard drive and my son has his on the other, so they are changed more often ;-)
