I have the normal ps4 stand at home with 500 gb only unfortunately enough, the memory is not quite enough and I wanted to buy an external hard drive for the games. What I would like to know supports the normal ps4 external hard drives?

in the net, unfortunately, I have only found that

Since May 2017, the USB port of the https://www.pc-magazin.de/ratgeber/ps4-externe-festplatte-kaufen-anschliessen-einrichten-anleitung-tipps-3200124.html# 4 (Pro) supports external hard drives.

Does that mean that only pro does it? Or my normal?

I do not have PS4 …

But the answer was actually just a little Google search:

https://www.google.com/...b-hd%20ps4

https://www.heise.de/...56283.html

https://www.computerbild.de/...18331.html

It basically works any external hard drive with USB 3.0.

My advice:

Buy a "bare" 2.5 "hard drive and place it in an aluminum case for better heat dissipation.

Of course, a 3.5 "hard drive is also possible, and there are also aluminum casings for this, except that these discs will need an external 220V power supply (included).

The disk only needs to be formatted in exFAT format.

I think, starting from Win7 the formatting in this file system is supported (meanwhile) directly.

Otherwise you can use one of these (for private free) tools for Windows:
