Do you need the ark dlcs to play on a gportal server?

Would like to play scorched earth on a rented gportal server. Do I have to buy the dlc on the ps4 for this?

If you don't have Scorched Earth then you'll have to buy it to play it. Clear…

Of course you don't have to have it to install it on the server… But you probably want to play it too…
