I exchanged my PS4 for a PS4-Pro during the last gamestop campaign.
If I want to install the PS4 games now, it doesn't seem to be possible because the games come directly from DVD / BD? Loading. As a result, the in-game loading times increase significantly, since he has to read the DVD / BD constantly. Is this normal or can you install the games? And if so, how?
After all, I have 1 TB available.
Games are always completely copied to the hard drive on the PS4, the disc only serves as the original source and then as a "license check", meaning that you still have the disc. It was different with the PS3, because many games were actually read directly from the disc.
As already described: I insert the disc, it takes about 5 seconds to load the content and then the game starts. Otherwise he had always installed at least 0.5 to 1 hour, then updates, etc. Now it starts immediately.
Do you have a PS4 or a Pro?
I don't quite understand - are you complaining that it's going too fast? Take a look at the memory management, you will see that the games take up a lot of space on the disk.
Both.
So I do not think that it is even possible that the games are read directly from the disc during operation.
Does the Pro have an SSD? Maybe that's why it's so fast… And no, I'm not complaining that it is so fast, but that the loading times within the game take longer than was the case with the predecessor PS4. So I assumed that he would access the optical drive more often.
No, to my knowledge, the hard drive is not much different. There must be another cause. Perhaps the score has increased that it takes longer to load? Or maybe because of the pro optimization? Or maybe the game is on a slower part of the hard drive? Can be anything…
