FPS restriction on games?

Hi, I have got a question. I've always noticed that you can limit FPS in games. (Limit 60 fps, 144, 240, 30 … And not limit) what is it for and when should you use it? And a little additional question: on how many fps are the games limited to Playstation 4?

PS4 limitation: probably 60 FPS.

One does this, so that, for example, a 60 Hz monitor (can display only 60 FPS) no cracks (multiple images in one) arise. Likewise, you do not put your components that way, because they do not have to perform well. It can also save power because, as I said, the components do not run at 100.

At Ps4, it is often well below 60 which is attributed to the rather weak hardware

It is really fluid from 60

The higher the limit the higher are the burglaries… If you have no limit, the fps number can be changed from z.b. Drop 200 fps to 100 … And you can see that. If you have a limit that can be kept (144 fps) this is not so noticeable. You can also adjust this to the refresh rate of the monitor. With ps4 it should be 60fps (can also vary) but I'm not sure.
