I got a 2tb ssd and connected it to my ps4. My question is do I always have to leave the extended memory on or can I raise it when I'm not gaming

You can separate the extended memory from the Ps4 in the settings, but then you can only play the games that are stored on the Ps4.

The Ps4 must be off so that the data on it is not lost. IMPORTANT. When the Ps4 is completely off, you can take it off. Important: You have to turn it on again BEFORE you turn the ps4 back on. Hope I could help. Have fun playing.

You can mark it out. The games that are on there are then marked accordingly that the currently. Are not playable. Updates will not be downloaded during this time either.

Plugging and unplugging is only possible with the console switched off.

When you reconnect the hard drive, it must first be read in again. May take a while. This is indicated by a symbol at the top right.

No you don't have to. What you have to do is to deactivate it before unplugging it. Otherwise you have to repair all the files on it again, it works quickly but it is annoying. It could also lead to data loss is to plug it out without deactivating it.
