Why are the communities gone?

So I have known for a month that the communities will be removed on the ps4 but is there a reason because they would not do it for no reason and can someone explain it?

I think that's because the communities didn't really bring us much, there were usually no advantages but even more disadvantages. I know from my circle of friends that they scammed a lot of accs through communities and actually they were pointless.
