I have a Psn account (2nd account) that bears the name of a relatively well-known GTA Youtuber.
The name is of course not 1 to 1 identical, as this is not possible, but it is still not recognizable at first glance.
I also play like this Youtuber GTA Pvp. At first glance, the name looks deceptively similar in the lobby, as mentioned above.
In contrast to this Youtuber, I don't wear his typical outfit, but use one that clearly shows that I'm not the "real" one.
If someone asks me if I'm the real one, I answer "no".
The description of my PSN account says that I'm not the real one.
My question: Can that have legal consequences? Is this identity theft or is it okay?
No?
This is not identity theft, but in some cases defamation, because if you play badly, the person who thinks you are the real one, which gives them an opinion that you falsified
Who doesn't know it when you're on trial for killing someone in GTA Online with an account that is called something similar to another person…
No, everyone himself has what his name is and I doubt that this Youtuber uses a copyright or something else for a GTA name that would be ridiculous
