Various things are specified by the manufacturers, sometimes a switch has several inputs and sometimes several outputs. Does it really matter what input and what is output or is such a switch just a connector between the signals and it doesn't matter what input and what is output?
Would like to go from a PS4 to a TV and extra monitor, but many manufacturers only ever have multiple inputs and 1 output, but I need it the other way around. ^^
What you want is an HDMI splitter. Transfer a signal to 2 screens
An HDMI switcher would be 2 signals (which you can switch) to be transmitted on 1 screen.
Perfect thank you. It also makes sense when I think about it.
No problem. If you look closely at Switcher you will discover that most of them have a switch where you can switch between the 2 inputs.
Yes you are right
With HDMI splitters, you can't have 2 signals at the same time on one output. You can only switch between two sources with a switcher. A splitter creates two identical images on two outputs.
