My room is in the attic, but the "main" router is in the basement. But it was a LAN cable through the house wall up to the attic floor, so I get internet without any problems. But since I do not receive Wi-Fi in the attic, I have always used a Fritz box as a repeater. So everything worked fine, so I had Internet via LAN s.PC, PS4 … And WLAN. But now the Fritz box is broken and a new acquisition is currently too expensive. That's why I wanted to ask if there's an alternative to get Wi-Fi and Internet via LAN to all my devices. If there's an alternative, it should create LAN with 200 mbit / s.
Have heard the rooter create a hemisphere of aluminum foil and then aim upward direction attic, should increase vll reach
A temporary cheap alternative would be to procure a 5-8 port G / Bit Switch and operate everything with LAN cable until you have the money for a new WLan Repeather. But should the Lan cable solution be the better one should leave it at that.
Why do not you connect a Wi-Fi access point to the Lan cable. Since you have Wi-Fi and can continue via Lan cable to the PC and PS4. The Fritzbox 4040 goes for it too.
Yes, I already had the Fritz box in sight, but I wanted to first see if there are even cheaper alternatives.
