So I have the following problem.
when I install the latest driver from Nvidia only 1024x768 resolution comes

if I uninstall the driver and use the driver from Microsoft I can use the Full HD resolution but not all games can be played.
I've been looking for the problem for two days and can't find a solution.

and how that came to the problem, I started the pc, pulled out the HDMI cable and wanted to connect with the ps4, which somehow didn't work and wanted to connect the pc but was only black screen all the time, then I shut down the pc with the push of a button and again high and suddenly the resolution was 1024x768. Have tried many things, do not move forward.

Ja

Don't install drivers?

Sp

Why is that suddenly not possible before everything went and with Nvidia driver I could not use Full Hd resolution since switching with the ps4

So

What driver from Microsoft do you mean? Because for an Nvidia graphics card, there are only drivers from Nvidia.

Sp

If I go under device manager then on graphics card the full hd resolution goes with the driver Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

and if I install my driver for the graphics card so gtx 1660 super the resolution jumps to 1024x769

So

Do you have a CPU with an integrated graphics unit?

Sp

So have a gaming pc processor rydan amd 5 and graphics card gtx 1660 super one click

Sp

Have had the pc since this week and have had no problems with the resolution since the HDMI change do not understand why that is so suddenly I have tried a lot to uninstall and install drivers and brought nothing and the driver for the monitor brought nothing, can't play all games if I install the driver from Microsoft but full HD resolution

Sp

I just tried to play League of legends at 10fps only

So

Where did you connect the monitor? On the mainboard or on the graphics card?

Sp

Graphic card

So

Can't you change that in the Nvidia Control Panel?

Sp

No, user set the resolution. Can choose but is not adopted. It says 1024x769 natively

So

But that's very strange. I ask a colleague of mine if he knows something like that. If he has a solution, I'll write it to you.

Sp

Okey👍

So

Ok, as I see it, something has happened to several of them. Always after a Windows update. In your place, you should go to System Restore and choose a recovery time before the last updates. Anything else makes no sense. Because if the graphics card were defective, it will have a different effect.

A colleague of mine says that this can often happen after Windows updates.

I completely reset the system yesterday, nothing has changed. Then yesterday a colleague came by with his screen connected and it worked Full HD resolution with the current driver! I ordered a new monitor yesterday. I do not know what could be the reason why the screen is defective or does not resolve higher with the current driver?!

So

I also thought of the monitor. But because you said yes that it works with the old driver, I excluded the monitor. But thanks, I think it's great of you that you let me know. So you learn something new. Because I really wouldn't have thought of the monitor anymore.

Sp

Yes yes! But is still questionable why suddenly by unplugging HDMI and pressing a button to shut down the pc so that a resolution is set to native 🤷🏻♂️ I have DVI connection with adapter because there's no HDMI connection on the monitor. I thought the adapter would be broken now but if it was broken it wouldn't have shown a picture?! It's funny don't find the mistake either. On Wednesday the new screen should come close and let's see what it says. Normally it should work, if not pack everything together and send it back and the pc 😂
