Playstation 2 controller error message while playing?

Wanted to play the game "Dragonball Z Bodukai Tenkaichi 3" on my Ps2. Until this message appeared (see picture) Apparently I have not connected a Dualshock 2 controller to the controller port 1. It can't be because of the port, because I can use everything in the menu with the controller as usual.

The error message says: "No analog controller (DUALSHOCK 2) connected. Verify that an analog controller (DUALSHOCK 2) is proberly inserted into controller port 1.

I'm not sure, but try to do the following:

Connect the controller to port 1.
Press the Analog button to light up the LED underneath.

So he switched to ANALOG.
